Innovative manufacturing companies work together to bring composites to industrial applications
(NISKAYUNA, NY) – Automated Dynamics is excited to announce it has recently entered a partnership with Bartell Machinery of Rome, NY. The agreement highlights the impressive technologies of both companies and will offer an innovative addition to composites in the engineering world. The new solutions will incorporate advanced composite materials in the fabrication of high-performing products such as continuous pipe for oilfield applications.
Bartell (full description below) possesses decades of experience in the design of rotating equipment for markets such as Tire & Rubber, Oil & Gas, and Wire & Cable. Their core manufacturing technology will serve as the basis for the newly designed systems. Automated Dynamics holds designs and patents on composite processing equipment and brings over 30 years of composites expertise to the effort. Their composite processing technology will be integrated into Bartell’s rotating equipment to create a new production system. This solution will yield a wide range of products manufactured with continuous fiber composite materials that can reach up to several miles in length. Incorporating continuous fiber composites opens the design space for such products as subsea components and industrial cables, with a focus on reduced weight and improved environmental resistance.
“Bartell’s extensive equipment design and manufacturing expertise is a wonderful complement to our composite material and process knowledge,” says Automated Dynamics’ President, Rob Langone. “Together we are able to provide a more complete solution to customers looking to address needs in market areas that we currently believe are under-served. The close proximity of our businesses in upstate NY also contributes to simplifying delivery of these seamlessly integrated technologies.”
Bartell President, Patrick Morocco, added, “We are excited to participate in this effort of collaboration. Developing a strategic relationship with Automated Dynamics, one of the world leaders in composite processing solutions, allows Bartell to continue to provide unique and innovative solutions to meet our customers desire to further advance their product offerings using carbon fiber technologies.”
