Automated Dynamics’ XT series fiber placement robot for 2010 was featured on the cover of the September/October issue of SAMPE Journal. The image shows the machine as it processes unidirectional, carbon fiber/PEEK thermoplastic prepreg during the production of a complex geometry helicopter tailboom. Such robotic AFP processing “heads” can fabricate with either thermoset or thermoplastic materials.
