SCHENECTADY, N.Y., December 13, 2011 - Automated Dynamics today announced it has introduced the Research Workcell to its standard equipment line. The Research Workcell is a small scale, self-contained robotic automated fiber placement machine designed to be an affordable and flexible piece of research and development equipment for higher education clients and small composites laboratories.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y., September 1, 2011 - Like many businesses throughout New York, Automated Dynamics, a leading manufacturer of advanced composite structures and high performance processing equipment, was adversely affected by the flooding caused by Hurricane Irene.

Located in downtown Schenectady, near the banks of the Mohawk River, Automated Dynamics' 45,000 sq. ft. headquarters building and manufacturing plant shut down Sunday, August 28, due to flooding and an area wide electric power shutdown.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y., August 30, 2011 - Automated Dynamics announced today that it is testing the use of a laser-based heating method for the production of fiber placed composite materials. The laser-based heating method is currently being integrated into Automated Dynamics' fiber placement technology and will be used to replace and/or supplement hot gas for heating.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y., January 4, 2011 - Automated Dynamics announced today that it is developing an automated fiber placement (AFP) robotic workcell for Concordia University's Concordia Center for Composites (CONCOM). The six-axis robot will fabricate simple to complex geometries, including cones, flat laminates, open and closed sections with convex and/or concave shapes, triangles, box beams, cylinders, ovals and more.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y., November 29, 2010 - Graham Ostrander joins Automated Dynamics as an Engineering Assistant.  Graham has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a B.S. in Physics from the State University of New York at Oneonta.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y., October 26, 2010 — Automated Dynamics announced today that it has successfully built and installed a new robotic fiber placement machine for Mitsubishi Rayon Co. (MRC) and the University of Tokyo in Japan.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y., September 22, 2010 — Automated Dynamics announced that it has developed a high-performance carbon fiber composite hydraulic pump with Cameron, a leading provider of flow equipment products, systems and services to worldwide oil, gas and process industries. The new machine component was displayed at the 2010 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y., July 29, 2010 — Automated Dynamics announced today that it has delivered a new piece of high-performance composite processing equipment to GKN Aerospace. The machine has been installed in GKN’s new pre-production facility on the Isle of Wight, United Kingdom, which will be at the heart of the next developments in the Environmental Lightweight Fan (ELF) research program. The program’s goal is to develop an all-composite engine fan blade that will improve aircraft engine performance and reduce emissions.

May 2010: Schenectady, NY- Automated Dynamics and NYSERDA are working together to reduce energy consumption in New York state. NYSERDA has awarded Automated Dynamics with a grant of $396,000.00 that will be used to upgrade ADC's existing HGT (hot gas torch) technology with high efficiency laser technology. This new laser heating technology for thermoplastic fiber placement (TPFP) equipment will provide higher process efficiencies, improved productivity, and business growth.

February 2010: Schenectady, NY- Mitsubishi Rayon Company accepted and approved shipment for Automated Dynamics’ Thermoplastic Matrix Composite Fiber Placement Workcell. MRC will be using the machine for research and development projects. The machine will be installed at the University of Tokyo and will be in commission late spring.

January 2010: Schenectady, NY - Automated Dynamics is the recipient of a $35,000 grant from the National Grid Manufacturing Productivity Program. The mission of the program is to help manufacturers improve their productivity and performance. At ADC, the grant money will be used to help pay for AS9100 training, Lean Manufacturing training, and Eureka Winning Ways training. These trainings are designed to help companies increase their overall efficiency while eliminating waste.
